Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Having an operation or extensive period of treatment often requires a period of convalescence and hard work in equal measures to feel fully recovered.

In fact, good recovery starts before an operation or treatment by meeting your nutritional needs and taking advice from your Doctor or Physio to help you prepare for what is ahead.

At Aspen we treat our clients and our carers as individuals respecting their preferences, choices and values.

Post-operative Physiotherapy programmes are designed to promote healing, reduce swelling and pain, increase mobility and flexibility.

It is imperative that these programmes and the plans the Physio’s put together are followed – but it is difficult to find the motivation when you are not feeling your best.

ASSISTING THOSE WHO NEED OUR HELP

Live in care supports these programmes liaising with Physio’s and gaining a good understanding of what is required and why. They will encourage you to follow the programme and any other instructions laid out by your medical team. On top of that they will assist with all your needs such as mobility, meal prep., personal care, housework and medication as well as accompanying you to appointments. They can assist with any equipment requirements. Having a companion also lifts your spirits improving overall well-being and fitness.

The rehabilitation period can be from one week to as many weeks as you need!
